The Details 

TFDW Generator Head

TFDW generator heads are the next step up from our popular ST generator heads. They are of a brushless design, are designed to last and to be easy to repair.  We order these heads with Japanese made high quality NSK front and rear sealed bearings. This is the generator head style we recommend to all our commercial customers.

This is not your typical consumer generator head that screams along at 3600 rpm. The TFDW units run at a comfortable 1800 rpm. This fact alone accounts for a huge increase in service life. The integral cooling fan is made of metal, unlike the fragile plastic fans found in most generator heads.

Diesel Engine

The diesel engine uses much less fuel than a gasoline unit. In addition, diesel fuel will not go stale and turn to varnish like gasoline. There is nothing like trying to start a gas engine that has sat in the garage for a year! You can buy “off-road diesel” for use in this generator. This lets you avoid the road tax. In addition, you can run waste veggie oil (WVO) from your local restaurant by adding a simple fuel heating mechanism. Run your generator for free! This is not just theory; many folks are doing using this type of fuel to reduce running costs. Do a Google search on “WVO Diesel” and you will see what I mean.

Cooling – This unit uses a closed circuit water filled radiator design similar to that found in a diesel truck. The radiator is mounted on the generator frame, not the engine, to isolate it from engine vibrations.

The engine is a Chinese built clone of a Cummins diesel. Any diesel mechanic will be familiar with this design. It is in used throughout the world in literally millions of applications.

Safety

A safety system is built into the generator set that will automatically shut down the engine if it senses WATER OVER TEMPERATURE , OIL OVER TEMPERATURE , LOW OIL PRESSURE or RPM OVER SPEED .

Run Time

All towable units are equipped with a 50 gallon base tank. This is capable of running the unit for about 24+ hours at 100% capacity. This unit will burn approximately .08 gallons of fuel per hour for each kilowatt of power output produced. Running a 15KW load will use about 1.2 gallons per hour. This would produce a run time of about 41 hours.  A 24KW load would produce a run time of about 26 hours. If you need more run time, it is quite easy to attach a larger external tank. We can supply 3^rd party tanks of up to 1500 gallons in capacity.

Parts Support

This engine is manufactured by multiple entities for multiple products and users.  If you do a Google search on +4100D +diesel, you will find numerous sites that mention this engine.  When I tried it, I found 572 sites.  Parts are available from many sources.  Same story for the ST type generator heads. Of course, we can also provide parts.

Return Policy:  Your satisfaction is our number one goal! If you have a problem with an item, please let us know and we will send out parts necessary to repair the item. We may also, at our option, replace your item with a similar (but not necessarily identical) item from our current stock. If you'd rather have a cash refund, item must be returned to our warehouse in unused sellable condition within 15 days of receipt. If you plan to send your item back, you must email us to obtain an RMA number. Items received without an RMA number will not be accepted. 20% restocking fee will apply on all returned merchandise.
